ARTS AND CRAFTS
Art Group Neighbors and friends gather to explore various painting projects. Minimal skill is required.
Card Making Meets weekly in the craft room to create greeting cards and share new and creative ideas.
Ceramics Meets periodically in the craft room, using High Vista’s very own kiln.
Quilters Quilters meet in the craft room to create a variety of projects.
CARDS AND GAMES
Bingo Played weekly in the Clubhouse Ballroom. Several different games are played, and cash prizes are distributed.
Bridge Meets weekly in the pub to play a challenging card game.
Bunco Bunco is a fast-paced dice game of chance that meets monthly in the pub. There is a small fee to play and cash prizes are distributed.
Euchre This popular card game is played weekly in the pub. Moderately easy to learn. All are welcome.
Lucky Cards A simple bingo-like card game that is easy to learn in a minute or two. All money collected is paid out. Open to residents and visitors 18 and older.
Mahjongg Mahjongg is a rummy-like game played with tiles rather than cards..
Pinochle Pinochle is played twice a week in the pub.
Poker We meet twice a week in the card room. All are welcome.
Super Samba A card game that takes place weekly in the ballroom.
COMMITTEES
ARC Committee The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) provides oversite to homeowner requests for external changes to their property. This is to ensure that the changes are compliant with the governing CC&R’s. ARC application forms are located in the Communications Room. The ARC Procedure Manual and the ARC Application Form can be viewed and/or downloaded by opening the MEMBER SIDE menu on the home page ribbon and clicking on the ARC sub menu. It is also available in the library to check out for up to 48 hours. 
Benefits Committee The Benefits Committee is a group of volunteers that coordinate and implement a multitude of community events. They meet monthly, and residents are encouraged to join the Benefits Team.
Board of Directors The High Vista Board of Directors consists of five resident homeowners that fulfill rotating three-year terms. They volunteer their time to ensure the community maintains its high standards and fiduciary responsibilities, to ensure that the funds collected from the homeowner’s monthly dues are spent wisely.
Citizen Assisted Patrol (CAP) The Citizen Assisted Patrol’s (CAP) purpose is to enhance the individual and collective safety and general welfare of all the residents of High Vista. The program is sponsored by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. High Vista residents are encouraged to apply to be part of the CAP program.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is trained and equipped by Polk County Fire and Rescue in basic disaster response. The team meets monthly, and residents are encouraged to apply to be part of the CERT program.
ENTERTAINMENT
Chorus The High Vista chorus is a group of residents who enjoy singing and camaraderie found in sharing music with the community. This is a winter activity that culminates with a concert in the spring. All are welcome and encouraged to join the chorus.
Dances There are periodic dances held in the ballroom with live bands and/or a DJ. Themed dances for special occasions are commonly held.
Movie Night This event provides a free-of-charge monthly movie (G, PG, or PG-13) for residents and their guests. There is free popcorn available.
Showtime Showtime is the organization that presents several high-level entertainment offerings each year, including musical acts, comedians, and various other performing talents.
Theater Performances High Vista’s very own Off-Off Broadway Players present yearly theatrical performances, including dinner theater options. In addition, the Reader’s Theater group offers productions of radio-style skits twice yearly.
Variety Show Players High Vista’s own performers plan, rehearse, and perform for the community. A variety of singers, dancers, comic acts, etc., display their talents.
FITNESS, DANCE AND WELL-BEING
Chair Yoga Meets weekly in the ballroom. All skill levels are welcome.
Chinese Tai Chi Meets twice weekly in the ballroom.
Exercise Class Meets twice weekly in the ballroom.
Line Dancing Meets twice weekly in the ballroom.
Water Aerobics Meet us at the pool for low-impact water aerobic exercises. Drop-in and give it a try.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE
Café Vista The Café Vista crew provide culinary services for many of our High Vista events, such as dinner theater, as well as many other community events.
Let’s Eat Out (LEO) High Vista neighbors meet at a local restaurant monthly during the summer. The sign-up sheet is in the communication room, and it fills up fast.
Food Trucks A nice variety of food trucks visit our community periodically.
High Vista Pub Our pub is a favorite watering hole for residents to gather and socialize while enjoying various choices of wine, beer, and soft drinks. The pub also hosts a happy hour, NFL Sunday Football viewing, and billiards. The pub is a favorite location for many of our card game groups, like euchre, bridge, pinochle, as well as board games.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
Bible Study Small Bible study groups meet weekly in the craft room.
Book Club Meets monthly in the clubhouse craft room to discuss books chosen by the members to read and to share their thoughts. All are welcome.
Grateful Gardeners A group of neighbors and friends who meet to discuss a mutual interest of plants, landscaping, and their thoughts and ideas.
Karaoke Meets once or twice a week in the ballroom to enjoy singing, some dancing (if you wish) and a socially good time.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Communications Room Located at the rear of the clubhouse, this is where you will find a plethora of information and the sign-up sheets for most activities. Pretty much anything you need to know is found here in the Communications Room. You will also find ARC application forms and amenity reservation forms, as well as items listed for sale and services offered in the community.
High Vista Calendar The High Vista Event Calendar lists all the events, classes, and gatherings and is handily located on our website.
High Vista Library Our community library is located just inside the clubhouse entrance. There are books and DVD movies which can be checked out, as well as jigsaw puzzles which you are welcome to borrow. There is a cart with books for sale at a nominal fee. You can find the ARC manual here at the library, and it can be checked out for up to 48 hours. There are limited faxing and copying services available.
Vista Views Newsletter Our community newsletter is published monthly. It contains important and highly useful information, as well as a list of our residents’ birthdays and anniversaries.
Travel Check out the Communications Room bulletin board for ongoing information on day trip excursions as well as a multitude of cruising options.
SOCIAL
Wednesday Coffee A social hour is held weekly with coffee and treats. Speakers announce upcoming events. The HOA President provides updates on community happenings.
Happy Hour Come join us for our weekly Happy Hour at the High Vista Pub. A great place to gather with friends and enjoy beer, wine and soft drinks as well as great conversation.
NFL Sunday Football Come join us for NFL Sunday Ticket viewing at the High Vista Pub during football season. Five TVs with all your favorite NFL teams. Potluck appetizers and drinks are available.
SPORTS
Bocce Ball Played weekly at the bocce ball courts (October through ???). All skill levels are welcome. Teams are selected each week at the beginning of play (drop-in).
Bowling (off site) Residents meet weekly for lunch at a local restaurant, then bowl three games at Cypress Lanes in Winter Haven.
Ladies Golf High Vista lady golfers meet weekly and play at either the Cypress Gardens Golf Course or at the nearby White Heron Golf Course. All levels of play are welcome.
Nomads Men’s Golf A men’s golf group (not a league) who play 18 holes biweekly and welcome all levels of play. We play within 20 miles of High Vista at various courses.
Pickleball We typically play three mornings a week at the courts located at the High Vista Clubhouse/Amenity Center.  Bring your own paddle. All skill levels are welcome.
Shuffleboard We play an organized game of shuffleboard weekly. Just drop-in and join. All skill levels are welcome.
Tennis We meet periodically in the mornings for drop-in games of tennis. All skill levels are welcome.
STATE CLUBS
Michigan-Ohio & the 3 I's Club
(MI-OH-IN-IL-IA) 
Residents of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa meet monthly (November through March) for a potluck gathering with delicious food, a fun game, and scrumptious desserts. All High Vista Residents and their guests are always welcome. See sign-up sheet in the Communications Room for details (There is a very minimal fee).
Nor’easter Club Residents from New York, New Jersey and the entire East Coast gather for food and fun during the winter months. All High Vista residents and their guests are welcome to attend.
Pennsylvania Club Residents from Pennsylvania gather to share food and talk of their time in the Keystone State. All High Vista residents and their guests are welcome to attend.
Southern States All High Vista residents are now considered Southerners, since y’all now live in a southern state. We meet periodically for dinner, socializing and entertainment.
 Upper Midwest Club Residents from the Upper Midwest States meet periodically during the winter months for a meal and a good time. All High Vista residents and their guests are welcome to attend.
